Lalu Prasad and son Tej Pratap distributed books among children in Patna on Saturday to mark the RJD founder’s 75th birthday.
Lalu Prasad celebrated his birthday with a 75kg laddoo, distributing pieces among party leaders, workers and supporters.
The party observed the occasion as Social Justice and Harmony Day, organising feasts for the poor and handing out grains, sweets and stationery for schoolchildren.
Lalu Prasad released a book, Gareebon ka Maseeha (Messiah of the Poor), written about him.
He urged his party to spread “the socialist perspective” and the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, B.R. Ambedkar, Jayaprakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia and Karpoori Thakur.
