Advocate Rakesh K., who had filed the appeal, told The Telegraph that the date of the verdict would be listed later.

Senior lawyers Dushyant Dave and S. Sreekumar appeared for the appellants while additional solicitor-general Aman Lekhi represented the government.

Justice N. Nagaresh had on Tuesday upheld the January 31 order of the ministry of information and broadcasting to revoke the channel’s licence citing lack of security clearance from the Union home ministry. The court, which went through the home ministry’s files, said they had cited adverse intelligence reports against the channel.

MediaOne has since gone off air and is limited to YouTube. Dave pointed out that refusal to renew the licence would affect the jobs of about 350 employees on the channel’s rolls.
