The Karnataka government on Tuesday transferred without postings two civil servants who had been publicly trading allegations against each other.
D. Roopa, a 2000 batch IPS officer, was shunted out from her position as the managing director of Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation. Rohini Sindhuri, a 2009 batch IAS officer, was removed as commissioner of the Muzrai (religious affairs) department.
Their public spat had caused embarrassment to the state government as Roopa went to the extent of sharing some private pictures of Sindhuri alleging that the latter had shared them with some male officers.
Roopa had also levelled corruption charges against Sindhuri, who attributed Roopa’s behaviour to “mental” issues.
Home minister Araga Jnanendra had on Monday directed the state police chief and chief secretary to take action against the two officers.
Basavarajendra H, a 2012 batch IAS officer, has replaced Sindhuri. Bharathi D, a 2013- batch IAS officer, has replaced Roopa.
The two warring officers will remain without postings until further orders.
