Karnataka chief minister and BJP strongman BS Yediyurappa has probably delivered his "farewell speech" in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
The 79-year-old, who has hung up his boots from electoral politics, says he will give his full support to the state BJP "till the last breath of my life".
"I want to tell all our (BJP) MLAs on this side (treasury benches) to work with confidence and prepare for election, many from that side (opposition) are ready to come with us, if you are confident, we can take them along and bring back BJP to power with a clear majority," he was quoted as saying by PTI.
The BJP veteran in July 2022 announced that he will not be contesting the assembly polls, and will vacate his Shikaripura Assembly seat. His successor from the constituency will be his younger son and the party's state Vice-President B Y Vijayendra, if party's think-tank finds it a viable option.
