The BJP has lodged a complaint with Jharkhand chief electoral officer K. Ravikumar against JMM central committee member Mohammed Nazrul Islam of threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP spokesperson Pratul Sahdeo informed the media in Ranchi that a complaint has been lodged with the chief electoral officer of the state against the JMM leader.
“We have a video clip of the JMM leader threatening to bury Prime Minister Narendra Modi 400feet under the ground. It is quite clear that they are threatening to kill the Prime Minister. We have lodged a complaint with the chief electoral officer of the state along with a video clip of the JMM leader statement. The INDIA bloc and JMM are frustrated seeing their imminent defeat and resorting to attacking our candidates and issuing threats of assassinating the Prime Minister,” said Pratul Sahdeo.
Significantly, the BJP had lodged a complaint with the chief electoral officer on Monday against the alleged heckling and attack of BJP Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat candidate and incumbent MP Geeta Koda on Sunday during a campaign at a village in Gamharia in Seraikela which is the home Assembly constituency of chief minister Champai Soren.
In the nearly 34 second video shared to the media by the BJP in Ranchi, purportedly of Mohammed Nazrul Islam where he is allegedly giving a statement during a meeting to mark Ambedkar Jayanti at Sahebganj in Jharkhand on Sunday.
In the purported video, the JMM leader is seen claiming that Hitler’s spirit has now
entered Modi and he now wants to abolish the Constitution and that is the reason they are giving slogans exceeding 400.
He then goes on to add that the BJP will not be able to cross 400 seats but we (INDIA bloc) will definitely bury him 400 feet under the ground.
Sahdeo expressed surprise that even after 24 hours of the video going viral the police had not taken any action against the leader.
“State police are yet to arrest the JMM leader. It is clearly visible that the government is promoting such Jihadi elements with tacit support of police. Surprisingly, even chief minister Champai Soren is silent on it,” said Sahdeo.
He demanded that the entire matter should be investigated at a high level as it is a matter directly related to the security of the Prime Minister of the country.
He also demanded that the Union home ministry should take immediate cognizance because talking about the attack and assassination of the
country’s Prime Minister comes under the category of treason.
JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that they would issue a statement after listening to the full speech of the leader but added that the statement was meant in the context of the Prime Minister slogan in Parliament ‘abki bar 400 par’ and claimed
that the JMM leader was speaking in the context of political language in which Modi, who symbolizes the BJP, will not be able to get a single seat in Jharkhand Lok Sabha poll.
