A delegation of Janata Dal United (JDU) from Uttar Pradesh met Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar here on Saturday and requested him to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Phulpur constituency.
The delegation, led by JDU Uttar Pradesh convener Satyendra Patel comprised around 75 party leaders and workers from 10 Lok Sabha constituencies of Uttar Pradesh. All of them also raised slogans demanding Nitish as the Prime Ministerial candidate of INDIA.
“We are fully prepared to contest about two dozen Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Our readiness is up to the booth level. We demanded that our leader Nitish Kumar should contest from the Phulpur constituency there and wipe out the BJP from our state and the country,” Patel told reporters.
“Phulpur is the constituency of Prime Ministers.
Nitish should contest from there. The entire country has high expectations from
him. We are just waiting
for his nod. He will win from any constituency he contests. Uttar Pradesh gave 10
Prime Ministers, but its condition is still pitiable,” Patel added.
