The National Investigation Agency has approached investigators in the UK and the US seeking to know the progress of investigations into the attempted violence at the Indian high commission in London and the vandalism at the Indian consulate in San Francisco during pro-Khalistani protests earlier this year, sources in the Union home ministry said.

“Following the ministry’s directive, the NIA has approached the probe agencies of the two countries seeking details on the investigation into the vandalism in the
Indian consulate in San Francisco and the high commission in London. If needed, NIA
investigators will again visit the two countries to meet the local authorities and complete the probe,” a home ministry official said.

The probe into the two cases, the official said, has not yielded much so far.

Earlier the NIA had released on its website the photos of 10 alleged Khalistani supporters wanted in connection with the vandalism at the Indian consulate in San Francisco on March 18 when some Khalistani entities had trespassed into the building and tried to burn it down.

On March 19, pro-Khalistani protesters had tried to vandalise the Indian high commission in London and pulled down the national flag while holding protests outside the commission complex.
