Oil India Limited and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday at the IIT Bhubaneswar campus to undertake joint research in the area of earth sciences, basic sciences and engineering.

“Some of the research focus include upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the oil and natural gas value chain entailing hydrocarbon exploration, development, production, reservoir management, pipeline transportation, refining and process technologies,” said a media release issued by the IIT.

The IIT Bhubaneswar director Prof. V.K. Tewari emphasised the need for research on the niche areas of joint collaboration. He also cited the spirit of the National Educational Policy.
