While the ICSE exams were held between November 29 and December 16 last year, the ISC exams were conducted between November 22 and December 20.

"The results of Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) first-semester exam have been announced," CISCE chief executive Gerry Arathoon said.

"The results can be accessed by logging into the CAREERS portal of the council, on the website of the council, as well as through SMS," he added.

The exams were conducted in offline mode and the academic session was bifurcated into two terms after the board exams could not be conducted last year in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results had to be announced using an alternate assessment scheme.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had also bifurcated the session into two terms and conducted the first semester exams in offline mode. It is yet to announce the results.

The students will get a marksheet for the semester 1 exam. The overall marksheet will be awarded after the completion of semester 2 exam, CISCE release mentioned. “The overall result i.e. – Pass Certificate Awarded or Pass Certificate Not Awarded/ Eligible for Compartment Examination will only be declared after completion of the Semester 2 Examination," CISCE statement mentioned.

The term 2 exams will be held in March-April and the final results will be announced there after. Council will need at least a month to check papers. Further, practical and internal scores will also be added to the mix. This is the first time the results are being announced on such a pattern.

The Council has made provision for the candidates to apply for rechecking of results. Students can apply through cisce.org. Recheck charges will be Rs 1,000 per paper or per subject. The window will be available from February 7 to 10.

Last year, a total of 99.76 per cent students cleared the class 12 exam, while 99.98 per cent students passed in the 10th exam. The result was announced on July 24.
