In his first public comments after the airstrike in Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he will not let the country down.
The Prime Minister stressed that India is in safe hands and that nothing is above the nation.
'Today is a day to pay homage to India's bravehearts. I want to assure you that the country is in safe hands,' he said at a public rally here.
'Saugandh mujhe is mitti ki, main desh nahin mitne doonga, main desh nahin rukne doonga, main desh nahin jhukne doonga (I vow on this country’s soil, I won’t let the country be erased, I won’t let the country stop, I won’t let the country bow down),” he said.
The Prime Minister, however, did not make a direct reference to the Balakot strike. The operation, described as a non-military, preemptive strike, was welcomed by the entire political spectrum and military experts.
