The world of weddings would be sketchy if we didn't add the name Vishaal Rasquinha. He has lit the energies and auras of weddings and other events across the globe with his infectious energy. Having done numerous shows worldwide, recent news shows that Vishaal Rasquinha is doing stunning events in Dubai. And to sneak a peek into his life of hosting weddings in this gulf country, we got in touch with the emcee. We had an intriguing conversation with him, and below is every bit of it!

Lately, you've been doing great shows in Dubai. Tell us about your experiences of hosting shows in that country.

I feel like Dubai is really close to my heart because I grew up in the Gulf. So I lived partly in Oman. I’ve lived a little bit in Dubai, and whenever I go back to Dubai, it doesn’t feel like another country for me, it feels like home. Which is why when I did my first show in Dubai or even in Muscat I had tears in my eyes because it really felt like a second coming and felt amazing to be there.

What's the main catch in doing events in India and other countries?

I feel weddings are not made because of which country you can have them in. I feel weddings happen because of great people. I’ve done some unbelievable weddings with unbelievable families, and sometimes even the simplest of moments can be really, really pretty. I’ve been a part of these things, and you don’t have to be in a country far, far away. Yes, things are different in different places, but I feel people make great weddings, not countries.

Why did you choose to expand to Dubai and not anywhere else?

For me, Dubai will always be like a second home or even on par with my home today, and if I had to choose any place where I had to expand, I would do it in Dubai. Also, because I have been building a client base, I’ve no family and so many people who’ve called me for their weddings or called me for their events in Dubai, it makes it much easier for me to move there. So when the opportunity came that "Hey, I could move to Dubai", I grabbed it with both hands because for me it was like Vishaal is coming home!

Can you tell us more about your first international show?

Strangely enough, most artists will have a story about Southeast Asia or will have a story about Sri Lanka or Nepal. But for me, my first international show came through destiny because someone saw my work in Istanbul and said, "Hey, would you like to do the Diwali event for the entire Indian community there?" And the world is so small! That lady turned out to be from my father's neighbourhood. I came to know this much later, and it was unbelievable to just see how beautifully similar the entire Indian population is. No matter what you say, we’re still the same even though we’re in different countries.
