Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren put emphasis on his government fulfilling promises made in the poll manifesto in 2019.
Soren, while addressing a gathering after hoisting the national flag during the Independence Day programme in Ranchi on Monday, said that the government is committed to fulfilling its promises made in the election manifesto.
“We are committed to fulfilling our promises of making a state in line with the aspirations of statehood martyrs. We have announced 75 per cent reservation in the private sector for locals and have also completed recruitment in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). We will fill up 37,000 vacant posts in government schools in the next six months under a special campaign. JPSC has been directed to take further action for the appointment to 2,716 posts in universities,” said Soren.
“Our government is constantly striving to build a strong state on the foundation of development and democracy. We are making strong and honest attempts to fulfil the aspirations for which a separate state was created,” he said.
Soren also talked about the CM Sarathi Yojana which would be launched during the Foundation Day celebrations this year. “Under the scheme, the government would provide free training to students from financially poor backgrounds for preparing for various competitive examinations. We would also launch the Guruji Student Credit Card scheme to help students studying in reputed institutes of the country,” said Soren.
Under the scheme which is patterned on the Bengal government scheme launched in June last year, the government will help the student to get a soft loan of up to Rs 10 lakh for higher studies with the help of a credit card.
“In view of the scanty rains during the Kharif season, the state has sought a special package from the Centre, and an amount of Rs 100 crore is being arranged under the crop relief scheme to provide immediate assistance to the farmers to compensate for the loss,” the chief minister said.
“In the 2021-22 Kharif season, the state achieved a record production of 74.16 lakh tonnes of food grains. In order to provide financial assistance to the farmers, Rs 1,583 crore has been sanctioned, Soren said.
“We have set a target of generating 4,000mw of electricity from solar power by 2027. Our government has taken the decision to provide green cover to the urban area. Work is being done on a plan to provide five units of electricity free of cost on planting a tree. Our state’s green cover has registered an increase of 110sq km in the forest area between 2019 and 2021, performing better in the field of forest conservation. Roads, rail routes, airways and waterways have expanded in the state. There has been an upgradation in the level of education and health,” he said.
The chief minister said 1,570km of four-lane highways will be constructed at an investment of about Rs 30,000 crores in the state.
