“There will be meetings even in the days ahead... We came here for blessings,” Hemant told reporters.

Modi reportedly lauded JMM MLA Kalpana’s active role in the election campaign.

A source said that the JMM had also invited Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who helmed the BJP’s unsuccessful divisive campaign in the state.

The couple later met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and party MP Priyanka Gandhi.

Kharge posted his congratulations on X and said: “The victory of INDIA alliance in Jharkhand is the victory of social justice.”

A partial cabinet, joined by the JMM, Congress and the RJD, is expected to be sworn in first. The CPIML-Liberation is scheduled to take a call on participation in the government on Friday.

In the evening, Hemant and Kalpana met AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita. AAP MPs Sandeep Pathak, Sanjay Singh and MLA Manish Sisodia were also present.

After the meeting, Kejriwal told reporters: “The way he fought and the way he struggled after his release is an inspiration to us all…. We will all go for his swearing-in.”
