Bhilwara district of Rajasthan records 21cm rainfall

According to Met centre director Radheyshyam Sharma, monsoon activities will gradually decrease in some parts of Rajasthan from July 28 and 29

In the last 24 hours, many districts of Rajasthan have received extremely heavy rainfall. Bilwara, parts of Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Ajmer, Sawai, Madhopur, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Banswara, Kota, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Pali, Nagpur and Jalore districts have received heavy downpour. Officials reported that Bhilwara has recorded 21 cm rain, followed by Chittorgarh which has received 18 cm rain.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot has said that due to the sudden rainfall, many areas in Jodhpur are facing waterlogging. He also said that he is in constant touch with the district collector. "Directions have been issued to the district administration to remain alert and prepared to handle any situation," Gehlot said in a tweet. A meteorological department official stated that for the next 48 hours, the present circulation system over eastern Rajasthan will have its effect in the districts of Ajmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur divisions.

Met centre director Radheyshyam Sharma said, "There is a strong possibility of heavy rain at some places in the districts of these divisions on Tuesday as well." As per Sharma, monsoon activities will gradually decrease in some parts of Rajasthan from July 28 and 29. Chittorgarh, Bhainsrodgarh and Gangrar recorded 13 cm rainfall each, Begun and Bhopalsagar recorded 12 cm and 11 cm rainfall respectively.
