Four eatery workers killed in road accident on Golf Course Road

Four restaurant workers were killed when a speeding car rammed into their bikes on Golf Course Road here on Thursday, police said. One of them also worked for Swiggy, the police said, adding the driver of the car, who was allegedly drunk, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

The police had earlier reported that all four were Swiggy delivery agents.

The deceased have been identified as Govind Patel, a native of Madhya Pradesh, Gopal from Uttarakhand, and Jitender Mondal and Rajnish Mondal, both natives of Bihar.

The owner of the restaurant, Manoj Kumar, said all of them had been working at his joint since December last year.

The accused driver, Harsh Singh, 43, has been booked for culpable homicide and under sections of the Motor Vehicle Act at the DLF Phase-1.

Khalid bail wait

A Delhi court on Thursday reserved its order on the bail plea of former JNU student Umar Khalid in a case of a larger conspiracy in connection with the Delhi riots of February 2020.

The court saidthe order on the bail plea of Khalid would be pronounced on March 14.
