The payoff allegations against Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter took a new turn on Thursday as former finance minister T.M. Thomas Isaac countered the latest claim that she had amassed illegal wealth through a company registered in the UAE.
BJP leader Shaun George had on Wednesday accused Vijayan's daughter Veena Thaikkandiyil of transferring crores of rupees to a bank account in Abu Dhabi that belongs to Exalogic Consulting. He claimed that the company belonged to Veena and her ex-husband Suneesh M.
But Isaac rubbished Shaun’s allegations by saying that Veena’s now-defunct Bengaluru-based tech company was called Exalogic Solutions Private Limited and it had nothing to do with the UAE-based namesake.
He shared a screenshot from the website of the UAE-based company that declares that it has no affiliates anywhere.
Isaac noted that the UAE-based company had five corporate offices — three in the UAE and one each in London and Bengaluru. He pointed out that the company’s Bengaluru branch is called Exalogico Systems and Services Private Limited.
Shaun defended his allegation and questioned the need to deploy a former finance minister to back Veena.
