The Enforcement Directorate arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on Monday in a case involving financial irregularities in the Delhi Waqf Board that he once headed.

However, there was some cheer for AAP with the party’s communications head, Vijay Nair, and Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar getting bail from the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case and an assault case, respectively.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh met Khan’s family and told reporters: “The BJP’s ED has arrested him, crushing all humanity. Amanatullah’s
mother-in-law had undergone cancer surgery three or four days ago. She has been brought home from hospital in critical condition…. Amanatullah Khan had written to the ED asking for time, saying that his mother-in-law was unwell, therefore, he should be given some time.”
