Durgapur-bound SpiceJet flight returns to Chennai

In yet another incident of technical snag, a Durgapur-bound Spicejet flight had to return to Chennai after the engine of the SpiceJet Boeing B737-8 Max aircraft VT-MXA while working as SG-331, faced some engine problems, reports hindustantimes.com.

The latest follows the severe jerk that a Durgapur-bound Spicejet flight faced which led to the injury of several including two pasengers who are now in ICU.

Aviation regulator DGCA on Monday had instituted a multidisciplinary team to probe the severe turbulence incident on SpiceJet's Mumbai-Durgapur flight that left 15 people injured.

SpiceJet on Monday said the seat belt sign was on and multiple announcements were made by crew members asking passengers to remain seated on its Mumbai-Durgapur flight on Sunday.

A total of 15 people 12 passengers and three cabin crew members were injured in this flight due to severe turbulence, said officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
