DPS Pune wins cryptic crossword contest

DPS Pune won the 10th edition of the annual national inter-school cryptic crossword contest here on Saturday.

The DPS Pune team ofKuhu Goel and Ashish M. beat the team of G. Sanjana and K. Sai Pranavi Praagnyafrom Bharatiya Vidya BhavanVidyashram to clinch the trophy.

Patna’s Notre Dame Academy, represented by AdyaSingh and Radhika Ranjan, finished as the second runner-up.

Union commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal, education secretary Sanjay Kumar, NMCG director G. Ashok and Delhi Energy Regulatory Commission member A.K.Ambastha handed over prizes to the winners and other contestants. Bihar development commissioner and chief mentor of the contest, Vivek Kumar, was also present on the occasion.

The two-day contest that began on Friday was held at the YMCA auditorium. Nationwide online rounds were organised before that. The grand finale had 32 teams from different parts of the country.

Ramki Krishnan from Chennai and Vinayak Ekbotefrom New Delhi conducted the contest in which students from Classes VIII to XII participated.
