DiCaprio has often spoken about environment issues concerning India. On Monday, the Oscar-winning actor had shared a post from the World Economic Forum on the 65-metre-high Ghazipur trash mountain, which is expected to eclipse the height of the Taj Mahal in the next few years.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, one of Hollywood’s most vocal environmentalists, has expressed concern over the acute water crisis in Chennai.
DiCaprio, 44, on Wednesday uploaded on Instagram a picture of women with pots gathered around an empty well in Chennai and shared a post by BBC tiled “Only rain can save Chennai from this situation.”
In the evening, many parts of Chennai received heavy rainfall, prompting Instagram users to thank DiCaprio for “the power of your words”. Other social media users underlined the importance of conserving the rainwater.
