BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday night met Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and requested him to ask the Uddhav Thackeray government to prove its majority, making the move a week after Shiv Sena MLAs sneaked out of the state and travelled to Gujarat to announce a revolt.
Fadnavis said the Sena-led government seemed to be in a minority as 39 Sena MLAs have said they do not support it.
“Therefore, we handed over a letter to the governor, requesting him to ask the government to prove its majority through a floor test in the House,” he said.
He met the governor around 10pm after a trip to Delhi.
