National convener for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced that he will drive all the overground wires underground and make Delhi garbage-free in the next five years if elected to power again.

Announcing the pre-manifesto 'guarantee card' on Sunday in New Delhi, Kejriwal said he will ensure a decrease in pollution in Delhi by three times and clean the Yamuna.

'This is only a guarantee card. A full-fleshed manifesto will be issued in 7-10 days. Promises in this card are those which affect everyone in Delhi. The manifesto will have more specific schemes,' he said.

Kejriwal claimed that Delhi will continue to have 24-hour electricity and that every house will have running water.

He also promised that if elected to power, he will make houses for all slum dwellers and relocate them to a place somewhere nearer.

A large part of the national capital, especially the older habitated areas like Old Delhi and parts of east and north Delhi, have insoluble webs of electric and other wires overground, will be benefitted if these wires, prone to accidents, are laid underneath, he said.

Kejriwal also promised last-mile connectivity through city transport and said he will increase the number of buses to 11,000 and metro line to more than 500km.

He said his government will use vacuum cleaners to rid the city of dust. He also said that each individual born in the city will be ensured quality education till graduation and quality healthcare, and if possible free.

'We want to make the city according to international standards,' the chief minister added.
