Delhi University vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh on Friday said he would talk to St Stephen’s College about its admission policy, after the institution announced that it would hold entrance interviews.

In an admission notice posted on its website on Tuesday, St Stephen’s College said it would give 85 per cent weightage to Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores and 15 per cent to interviews for all its seats.

The college also said it reserved the right to proceed with admissions according to its own admission policy guaranteed to it as a minority institution.

The CUET has been made mandatory for admission to all central universities.

While releasing DU’s admission policy, Singh had said that for the general category seats a college should solely take the CUET scores into consideration. For the minority category seats it could hold interviews and assign a weightage of 85 per cent to CUET and 15 per cent to the interviews.

“We do not want any confrontation and will work it out. We are not challenging their legal authority but will discuss things with them and find a solution,” Singh said.
