Aftab Ameen Poonawala accused of murdering and butchering his live in partner Shraddha Walker will be presented in court for a narco test within five days, a court in Delhi said, according to NDTV.
The court has allowed Delhi Police to question Poonawala for five more days. The cops have requested narco test analysis on the accused since Poonawala was changing his statements frequently. He wasn't cooperating with the police.
Poonawala has given his consent to the truth serum test.
According to Delhi police, Poonawala allegedly strangled Walkar (27), on May 18 and sawed her body into 35 pieces which he kept in a fridge for almost three weeks at his residence in South Delhi's Mehrauli before dumping them across the city, reports PTI.
"The duo fell in love while working in Mumbai and came to Delhi by April-end or May first week after facing opposition from their families. While they were living in the national capital, they had an argument in mid-May over marriage, which escalated and he strangled her," Ankit Chauhan, Additional DCP-I, South district, said.
"He then cut her body into pieces and disposed them in different parts of the city. The accused had preserved the woman's body in a fridge and disposed them on different occasions," he added.
Chauhan said that a few days after the couple started living in Delhi, the woman's father in Mumbai realised she was missing. He filed a missing report with the Mumbai Police.
