In a recent revelation, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the Modi government of attempting to trap him in fabricated cases since 2015. Kejriwal alleged that individuals were pressured and coerced into providing false statements against him. The claims were made via a tweet from his official handle, shedding light on an incident from 2015.
"Instead of working for the country, the Prime Minister keeps hatching conspiracies 24 hours a day to implicate his opponents in false cases", Kejriwal wrote in X.
Detailing the alleged coercion, Kejriwal disclosed that CBI officers had offered freedom to an individual in exchange for implicating him as the mastermind. The individual revealed this information during an interview, stating that CBI officers explicitly pressed for naming Kejriwal.
"This is an incident of 2015. Modi government has been trying to implicate me in false cases since 2015. Various kinds of pressures are put on people and they are asked to give statements against me", added Delhi CM in his post in X.
In response to these accusations, questions have been raised about the involvement of high-ranking CBI officials. The interviewee pointed to an inspector and DIG Sanjeev Gautam within the CBI, alleging their complicity in this scheme. Sanjeev Gautam had previously faced accusations of harassment in a suicide note left by another individual.
These revelations have sparked renewed debate over the politicisation, overview of law enforcement agencies and the alleged misuse of power to settle political scores. The Modi government has yet to respond to these accusations. As the situation unfolds, public interest in safeguarding the integrity of legal proceedings and upholding justice remains a pressing concern.
