The Congress on Tuesday said 600 intensive care unit (ICU) beds could have been readied for critical Covid-19 patients in Delhi with “Rs 32 crore” that the Arvind Kejriwal government spent on the publicity of his Diwali event.
The party also criticised the plan to selectively close markets.
“A market becomes the hotspot because of the customers who come there. If you close that market, the same customers will go to other markets. If four markets are closed and two are open in an area, crowds will swell and infections will rise,” general secretary Ajay Maken said.
“Either close down all markets or keep all open. Even Metro train should not be closed on selective routes….”
