The Congress has iterated its offer to negotiate with the rebel MLAs in Rajasthan if they come out of the BJP’s “control and hospitality”.
Party communications chief Randeep Surjewala said: “We are ready to talk. But the condition is that they (rebel MLAs) should reject the BJP’s hospitality and return to Rajasthan. Step out of Haryana, come out of the BJP’s control, stop being friends with the BJP. There is no police protection for hapless women who face criminals daily in Haryana but over 1,000 policemen are deployed to protect (rebel) Congress MLAs. Why? Why are our MLAs hiding there if they have nothing to do with the BJP?”
Surjewala asserted that the BJP’s ploy to pull down the Rajasthan government would be ultimately defeated.
The Congress has shifted its MLAs from Jaipur to Jaisalmer to secure them from poaching attempts before the Assembly session on August 14.
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has been visiting the hotel even as the management of the coronavirus pandemic has kept him tied up in Jaipur.
