BJP president J.P. Nadda on Thursday accused the Congress of encouraging disintegrative forces in the country and promoting urban naxalism.
Nadda also accused the Congress of joining hands with those advocating for the revival of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reiterating, the Congress said that as the BJP was losing the election in Jammu and Kashmir, Nadda was making all such statements out of frustration.
Attending the ongoing membership drive programme of the BJP, Nadda said: “The Congress party has become the spokesman of Urban Naxalism. Congress is encouraging the disintegrative forces in the country.”
Nadda targeted the Congress by saying that they were aligning with those opposing the abrogation of Article 370 and advocating for its revival.
Without directly naming Rahul Gandhi, Nadda said: “The Congress has not been able to see the economic growth of the party. Both the brother and sister are unable to see the economic growth. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, the country is moving fast and is aiming to become for a developed country by 2047.”
Talking about the BJP, Nadda said, “It is a democratic and a transparent party. The party has a transparent election process....People from a common background can reach the party’s top, unlike other parties. Sons and daughters of the leaders are not being made the leaders; they come from ordinary backgrounds.”
Coming down heavily on Nadda, senior Congress leader and former union Minister Srikant Jena said, “They are losing the election in Jammu and Kashmir. We can see Nadda’s frustration. They should not forget their past activities. Who had gone to Pakistan to appease them? What was their role during independence? They should not teach us nationalism.”
Jena said: “Let me clarify that not just people from Kashmir but also Jammu people are opposing the abrogation of Article 370. We are with the people.”
He added: “Nadda is the Union health minister, and the nurses are on strike in the state. The health system has been crippled. He did not find time to talk about the issue and talked about economic growth.”
