The scheme is enivsaged as a socio-hub that can be used to organise events and help the government connect better with the people of western Odisha.

Launching the scheme on Friday, the chief minister said: “The development of western Odisha has always been the priority of my government. The budget of western council has been doubled.”

Naveen also virtually launched various developmental projects worth Rs 33.58 crore for western Odisha on Friday.

On Saturday, the state government gave his nod for the development of the birthplace of Vir Surendra Sai — an eminent freedom fighter who fought against the British — in Sambalpur a tourist place at a cost of Rs 6.41 crore.

The Naveen Patnaik government is putting its focus on the development of western Odisha, which is considered as the stronghold of the BJP.
