Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud on Thursday announced the integration of the Supreme Court’s data with the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) portal, the flagship project of the e-Courts initiative, completing the full circle of merging all three tiers of the Indian judiciary on the portal.

CJI Chandrachud said the portal would be updated in real-time and it would feature all details about the Supreme Court, including monthly and annual data on the cases filed, disposed of and pending, at the click of a button.

“A small announcement as we mark a historic event today. We have integrated the Supreme Court data with the National Data Grid. At a glance, the webpage gives us the pendency of civil and criminal cases. If you see the webpage, there are just about less than 100 cases pertaining to 2000 (the year) and before. So, this gives a database for the Chief Justice of India to get done with all the oldest cases soon,” Justice Chandrachud said.

The NJDG-SCI portal can be accessed through the website of the Supreme Court by clicking on the tab button — “NJDG SUPREME COURT OF INDIA”.
