The Culture Department is organizing a training camp called "Aakaar-2023" in the state capital, which is attracting people of all age groups, including children, youth, and the elderly.
More than 400 trainees are participating in the camp, receiving training in various traditional art forms. Moreover, orphaned and disabled children are also receiving free training in these art forms, which will equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for self-employment.
The state government organizes training camps every year with the aim of preserving, promoting, and creating awareness about traditional crafts and arts, besides generating interest among people. This year, the "Traditional Crafts and Various Arts Training Camp Aakaar 2023" is being held from May 1 to May 19 at the Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum in Civil Lines, Raipur.
Culture Department officials stated that the Aakaar training camp is being held annually since 2005. Training camps are also being organized in all the regional headquarters of the state, with people of all age groups including children, the elderly, and youth participating in the training camps with great interest.
The officials further informed that in "Aakaar-2023", registered participants will receive training in various art forms including mural, paper mache, clay, wood and bamboo crafts, sculpture, painting, Madhubani, tapestry, paddy jewellery making, dry flowers, glass painting, Godna art, paddy stubble art, terracotta, Rajwar pottery, classical dance, drama, folk dance, jute craft, henna art, cow dung art, Warli painting, Pichwai art, sand art, mandala art, Mandana art, Gond art, Saura art, sketch painting, canvas painting, and instrument building and training.
After the training, the artworks and materials created by the trainees will be displayed on the premises, and the participants will be awarded certificates.
