Chhattisgarh: Skill development training for school teachers from August 22 to 25

The Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry is organising the workshop

The Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, started a training workshop on August 22 to enhance the skills and knowledge of secondary and higher secondary school teachers and motivate students to pursue science.

This workshop is organised at the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center and will continue until August 25. The workshop offers presentations and hands-on training for teachers to incorporate learning resources into the curriculum, providing an alternative to the traditional chalk-and-talk method.

The Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Program is a professional development course of the Royal Society of Chemistry for science teachers in India. The Royal Society of Chemistry is working to promote UK chemistry and chemistry education. Master trainers of the Royal Society of Chemistry have collaborated with India's best teachers to develop this curriculum to help science teachers improve their abilities and inspire students to study science at the university level.

The Royal Society Teacher Developers is conducting workshops for science teachers in schools across India. As a result, teachers are provided with strategies to make the subject more exciting and interesting to students in secondary and higher secondary schools. Workshops offer free training with affordable and easily accessible plans.

Scientist of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology Dr. J.K. Rai, informed the teachers about the overview and purpose of organizing the workshop. In the inaugural speech, the Director General of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology, S.S. Bajaj briefed about the program and stressed the need for teachers to improve their ability to engage children in science. S.S. Bajaj advised the teachers to properly learn the techniques provided by the Royal Society of Chemistry during the workshop, as they can be applied to improve instruction in the classroom and encourage students to pursue science.

Teacher Developer from the Royal Society of Chemistry, Bangalore, Jaya Swaminathan, shared information on the Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Professional Development Course, and its implementation in India. Scientists and officers of the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center and science teachers of the Raipur district participated in the workshop.
