Chhattisgarh records average rainfall of 908.8 mm since June, Bijapur leads with highest rainfall

In the Bastar region, districts like Bastar and Kondagaon saw 949.9 mm and 860.9 mm of rainfall, respectively

Chhattisgarh has recorded an average rainfall of 908.8 mm between June 1 and the morning of August 30, with the distribution varying significantly across the state's districts, according to the State Level Control Room, established by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

Bijapur reported the highest average rainfall at 1881.6 mm, while Surguja recorded the lowest at 506.7 mm, highlighting the diverse monsoon patterns across the region.

Surajpur received 916.4 mm, Balrampur 1326.5 mm, and Jashpur 794.0 mm. Neighboring districts like Koriya and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur saw 930.7 mm and 929.1 mm of rainfall, respectively.

Raipur recorded 745.1 mm, while Baloda Bazar and Korba reported 945.7 mm and 1223.7 mm, respectively. Other districts such as Gariaband, Mahasamund, and Dhamtari received 875.5 mm, 723.1 mm, and 785.6 mm, respectively, with Bilaspur registering 844.8 mm and Mungeli 940.9 mm.

Raigarh and Sakti saw rainfall of 892.2 mm and 856.8 mm, while Janjgir-Champa recorded 997.0 mm. Meanwhile, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh and Durg reported 535.7 mm and 544.2 mm, respectively. Kabirdham and Rajnandgaon recorded 711.0 mm and 872.6 mm.

In the Bastar region, districts like Bastar and Kondagaon saw 949.9 mm and 860.9 mm of rainfall, respectively. Kanker recorded 1067.6 mm, Narayanpur 1002.7 mm, Dantewada 1137.9 mm, and Sukma 1225.0 mm.

These rainfall figures not only underline the diverse climatic zones within the state but also provide crucial data for managing water resources, agriculture, and potential flood risks in the days to come.
