A total of 10 students belonging to special backward tribal communities enjoyed 'Helicopter Joyride' at Police Parade ground here today.

They were given this opportunity as part of the 'Swami Atmanand Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana'. The group consisted of 5 students each from Class 10 and 12. These students hail from areas where people have been facing significant challenges in accessing basic amenities.

However, due to the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, these children now got an opportunity to enjoy helicopter rides.

Gayatri Dhanushdhari, a student of class 12, belonging to a special backward tribal community, passed the board examination with a score of 85.02 per cent. She is a student at Amartara Higher Secondary School.

Gayatri said, "Sitting in the helicopter feels like a dream come true. I will never forget this moment. My whole family is overjoyed. Today, thanks to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, I have been given this opportunity, and I am filled with immense happiness. My ambition is to become a doctor and I am preparing for the NEET examination."

Gayatri belongs to a farming family from the village of Terenga in the Gariyaband district. She mentioned that her family benefits from government welfare schemes, which provide them with significant financial assistance.

N Kumari Baiga, a student of Class 10, has cleared her board examination with a score of 88.16 per cent. She is a student of Swami Atmanand English School, Bodla. She hails from the village of Mannabedi in the Kabirdham district.

She resides in the hostel and pursues her studies there. She mentioned that she has five sisters and one brother. Her mother works as a cook in the village's primary school.

“The entire family is overjoyed, and it was my sister who brought me here. My aspiration is to become a doctor for which I am preparing for the NEET examination,” Baiga said.

N Kumari stated, “Today, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam spoke to me and commended my achievements. He also mentioned that today we will also have the opportunity to meet the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.”.

Recalling her experience of the helicopter joyride, N Kumari said that this day will forever be etched in her memory. "We belong to a special backward tribal community, and I aspire to witness progress within our community", she said.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel made an announcement in this regard during his Bhent-Mulakat programme held at Raghunath Nagar in the Pratappur Assembly constituency. During her interaction with the Chief Minister, a student named Smriti from Swami Atmanand School expressed her desire for a helicopter ride.

Responding to her, the Chief Minister assured, "When you excel in the 12th-grade examination, we will make arrangements for a helicopter ride for you." Smriti expressed her eagerness to take the ride on the same day and to fulfil the desire of this young girl, the Chief Minister immediately issued directions to arrange the ride for her.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister also announced that helicopter rides would be provided to the students who appeared on the merit list of Classes 10 and 12.
