Director General of Police, Ashok Juneja, chaired a review meeting conducted through video conference with the Inspectors General of Police of all ranges and the Superintendent of Police of all districts. DGP Juneja reviewed the actions taken against various crimes in the past month.
DGP instructed all the officers to take more effective measures against online gambling, betting, and the illegal trade of liquor and drugs. He directed the police officials to take strict legal action against those who were found involved in any illegal activities.
During the meeting, he also reviewed the progress of action taken against chit-fund companies. He directed all the SPs to speed up the process of auctioning properties owned by the chit-fund companies. The funds received from the auction should be returned to the investors as soon as possible.
Ahead of the upcoming proposed assembly elections, the DGP has instructed the SPs to prepare a list of active criminals and anti-social elements. Effective legal action is to be taken against notorious criminals under the National Security Act (NSA), and they should be expelled from the district through legal orders.
Furthermore, he directed the officers to take action against absconding criminals and individuals with warrants. The Police Headquarters will conduct weekly reviews of the actions taken in the districts. He instructed all SPs to show special interest and to take effective measures in this regard.
