Chhattisgarh: Collector visits beneficiary's house under Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana to deliver ration card

People can call 14545 to avail of the services under the scheme from the comfort of their home

Under the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana of the Chhattisgarh Government, important certificates and documents are being issued and delivered to the doorstep of the beneficiaries.

Omprakash Agarwal, a resident of Kabir Chowk in Raigarh Municipal Corporation area, had applied for a ration card by calling on 14545. He submitted the required documents on June 5 and his ration card was ready on June 7.

Collector Taran Prakash Sinha personally visited the house of Omprakash Agarwal and Sulochana Devi Agarwal as a 'Mitan' and handed over their ration card to them. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sambit Mishra also accompanied the Collector during the visit.

Omprakash Agarwal said that never in his dreams had he imagined that the Collector would visit his house as a Mitan to deliver his ration card. It is noteworthy that this was the 5500th application redressed under the ‘Mitan’ scheme in the municipal corporation area.

Collector Sinha said that on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Government has commenced Mitan Yojana to provide civic amenities to the common people living in municipal corporation areas.

The 5500th document i.e. the ration card of Omprakash Agarwal, issued under this scheme in the Raigarh Corporation area, was delivered on June 7. This facility of ration card issuance and delivery has been included under the scheme recently.

Collector Sinha said that the objective of the scheme is to make certificates and documents available to the applicants at their doorstep so that they do not have to make frequent visits to government offices.

Collector Sinha was happy to know that Omprakash Agarwal's ration card was prepared with just one call. Agarwal told that he had submitted the documents required on June 5th, and within just two days, the ration card was delivered to his home by the Collector himself. He didn't have to go anywhere, did not have to go to any government office, all he did was make a call and got his ration card issued. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for providing such convenience to the people of the state through Mitan Yojana.

5500 applications resolved in a year

On the special initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana was commenced on May 1, 2022, with the objective of providing home delivery of civic amenities in the municipal corporation areas of the state.

So far, 5500 applications have been addressed under the scheme in Raigarh Municipal Corporation within the span of the last year.

Saving time and energy

Services provided under Mitan Yojana include Native Certificate, Scheduled Caste or Tribe Certificate, Other Backward Class Certificate, Income Certificate, copy of land record, death certificate, marriage registration and certificate, birth certificate, and documents related to shop and establishment registration.

Likewise, Mitan Seva can also be availed to get death certificate correction, marriage certificate correction, Aadhaar card registration, (for children up to 5 years) Aadhaar card address and mobile number correction done.

Recently, the facility of ration cards has also been included in the scheme. Under this scheme, the facilities of ration card transfer/surrender, ration card correction, issuance of new ration card APL, ration card lost case, name addition/deletion in ration card, and new ration card BPL are also being provided.

Through this scheme, people are not only saving time and money but they are also saved from the frequent visits to government offices to get their certificates issued.
