Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, is hosting a four-day Agri Carnival-2024, featuring the "National Farmers' Fair and Agricultural Exhibition," from October 22 to 25. The event begins with a Youth Conclave on October 22 and concludes on October 25.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will officially inaugurate the National Farmers' Fair and Agricultural Exhibition on October 23 at 3 PM, with Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam presiding over the ceremony. Throughout the fair, farmers, students, and the general public will have the opportunity to tour the university's research fields and view agricultural exhibits.
The first day, October 22, will feature a job fair attended by over 2,000 students, with more than 20 private companies from the seed, agricultural chemicals, and fertiliser sectors offering employment opportunities and career guidance. Additionally, an "Industry-Academic Meet" and an "International Education Fair" will provide students with expert advice on studying abroad. The Youth Conclave will include a "Self-Employment and Startup" program, connecting agricultural students, startups, entrepreneurs, incubators from Chhattisgarh, industry representatives, and young innovators focused on transforming agriculture through entrepreneurship and innovation.
The primary goal of the event is to identify and encourage areas where young entrepreneurs and startups can drive agricultural innovation. It will provide a platform for students and experts to exchange knowledge on entrepreneurship, with startup experts offering guidance on training, funding, and establishing new ventures.
