Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the first Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College in the Surguja division today. Chief Minister Baghel participated in the traditional puja rituals and cut the ribbon to mark the inauguration of the college building in Keshavpur. Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo was also present on the occasion.

A total of 10 Swami Atmanand English Medium Model Colleges are being established across the state. The inauguration of Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College in Keshavpur, Ambikapur, took place today. It is worth mentioning that the government college has a total capacity of 1000 students, out of which nearly 610 students have enrolled.

In accordance with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's announcement, the Government Science College underwent renovation and expansion to enhance its facilities. Presently, the college has modern amenities including smart classrooms, a state-of-the-art library, laboratories, and additional classrooms, aligning with recent educational standards.

The college's renovation and expansion were carried out at a cost of Rs 2.54 crore including a laboratory building, costing Rs 1.21 crore and Rs 1.33 crore for beautification of the garden, construction of a CC road, the refurbishment of the principal's office on the ground floor, renovation of laboratory and library on the first floor, installation of an entrance gate, and the establishment of a parking shed.
