Chhattisgarh CM announces slew of projects in 'Gaurav Samagam-2023'

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel attended the Gaurav Samagam-2023, where he made several announcements relating to social and civic issues.

Organised by the Urban Administration and Development Department, the programme hosted public representatives of urban bodies across the state.

The CM praised the urban bodies for doing excellent work and serving the citizens. He highlighted the facilities that are being provided such as easy access to ration cards, improved drinking water system, a more convenient system of providing building permits among others.

    Baghel also declared a series of upcoming projects for the development of the state.

    • Urban Women's Livelihood Centre to be set up in Raipur, Bhilai, and Bilaspur
    • To generate employment for the youth, Raipur and Bhilai to get new BPO centres
    • A world-class Central Library and reading zone to be built in Bhilai
    • RIPA will lead to the establishment of Urban Cartage and Service Industries Parks in all municipal corporations and municipalities

    • Municipal corporations will be set up with Smart Health Kiosks for providing free checkup of blood pressure and blood sugar
    • The Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Ambikapur and adjoining areas will be upgraded and beautified
    • A proper drainage system will be installed in the waterlogged areas of Raipur
    • Land development rules will be relaxed
    • CCTV will be installed along with modern toilets and development systems in market areas of cities
