Taking inspiration from Chhattisgarh's approach, the Government of India is contemplating the incorporation of ITI courses alongside the 12th-grade curriculum and today, we have distributed ITI certificates- said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a program organized at his residential office on Saturday. He also distributed Higher Secondary cum ITI trade certificates to the students and gave appointment letters to lecturers under Teacher Recruitment – 2023.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said there is an increased demand for young people who have completed ITI training. If one is interested in pursuing a career in the IT industry, completing one year of training after high school is required. While this may require a significant investment of time, now students are able to receive their ITI certification upon passing their 12th-grade exams.

By obtaining a certificate in their chosen trade after completing their 12th grade, they can become experts and secure jobs in their field of expertise. Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the occasion said that having an ITI certificate along with the 12th standard will increase employment opportunities. He congratulated the appointed lecturers and students who received trade certificates and wished them the best.

After the recruitment of 27,000 teachers, the government started distributing appointment letters. He emphasized the importance of dedication in teaching to impart wisdom to children and instructed the newly appointed lecturers to take Chhattisgarh to great heights in the field of education. The goal is to fulfil the resolution of "Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh" through their efforts.

He further added that the effort to provide education to children in English medium to children through the Swami Atmanand schools is truly commendable. Over 4.5 lakh children of the state are studying in 727 Swami Atmanand schools across the state.

The Swami Atmanand English and Hindi Medium School Scheme is undoubtedly one of the best schemes in the state. In addition, the ITI course offered to students in 10th and 12th is commendable, as it provides them with two certificates upon completion, one for 12th and the other for ITI. Such initiatives are bound to inspire many young minds to pursue their aspirations.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the state is already two years ahead in implementing initiatives that the Government of India is currently contemplating. The recent ITI graduates are jubilant, and the trainers share in their joy. Until now, trainers only taught ITI students; however, today they are delivering a new form of training.

This program is divided into two years, with the first year focused on theoretical studies, and the second year on practical training. Both aspects are essential and distinct. The students who have successfully completed this program have passed Higher Secondary and ITI. One challenge we face is acquiring trades for those schools that offer ITI. While this may not be an issue for those schools with trades and can be difficult for schools with equipment located at a distance for desired trades.

CM Baghel emphasized the pivotal role played by technology in shaping the future. In regard to this, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs. 1186 crore with Tata Technologies to upgrade 36 ITIs. The upgrade will introduce many trades that cater to the needs of both the country and the world, creating employment opportunities for 10,000 people. Our unwavering commitment to facilitating employment for all has led us to distribute unemployment allowances, as well as provide vocational training to the youth. While the distribution of unemployment allowances brings some relief, our joy is immeasurable when the youth secure gainful employment. We have established 300 Rural Industrial Parks (RIPA) in rural areas, and are constructing Urban Industrial Parks in cities to provide our skilled youth with opportunities to develop their businesses and careers.

The Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education, skill development and youth welfare, Umesh Patel, praised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel`s decision to offer ITI trades certification to students in addition to their 12th standard education. He also stated that the Central Government has now followed suit, which is a testament to the success of this initiative.
