CPI national general secretary Atul Kumar Anjan blamed the BJP-RSS combine for conspiring to stoke Manipur in the fire of ethnic violence even as constituent parties under the Opposition alliance INDIA held protests across Jharkhand protesting against Manipur violence on Tuesday.

Addressing reporters at the end of the two-day CPI Jharkhand state council meeting at Ranchi on Tuesday, Anjan said: “Narendra Modi-led BJP government and RSS have conspired to burn Manipur in ethnic violence in pursuit of their lust for power. It was a planned conspiracy. Why have they allowed to let N. Biren Singh remains the chief minister after all that has happened in the state.”

“We have seen the worst form of violence against women ever witnessed in our country in Manipur. The country is passing through a period of tremendous crisis and this has been done by RSS and BJP who want to remain in power by any means,” added Anjan.

“Women are angry in every house. In such a situation, the formation of the Opposition alliance ‘INDIA’ (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) is a much-needed development and will emerge as a positive political alternative. This has made Narendra Modi jittery and his anger can be seen during public appearances and speeches. The CPI’s only mission is to defeat BJP and save the country from flames of hatred,” said Anjan.

Commenting on the party’s role during the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Jharkhand, Anjan said: “The CPI has selected its candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha in the country. Our only target is defeating the Modi government. A team of 2,000 active workers have been mobilised in each of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand who would be equipped with political, organizational and election-related policies and trained to create public connect ahead of the polls and make people aware of BJP’s divisive agenda and wrong policies which have led to inflation and joblessness.”

He also informed that as part of political resolutions, it was decided to hold programmes across Jharkhand on August 9 to mark World Indigenous People’s Day and hold demonstrations on September 1 to express solidarity with farmers.
