BJP chief J. P. Nadda on Tuesday launched ‘Mission 40’, a campaign targetting the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
Nadda recounted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre at a public meeting at Paroo in Muzaffarpur district which comes under the Vaishali Lok Sabha constituency and attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar-led Grand Alliance.
Though Nadda had come with the 2024 general elections on his mind, he mixed it up with the Assembly polls, due in 2025, in his speech, leaving the audience wondering about it.
“Bihar wants to change. Bihar wants development. We want to change the takdeer (fate) and tasveer (image) of the state. Only the BJP can take the state on the path of progress. Vote on the lotus symbol of the party in the coming elections to ensure it,” Nadda said at the meeting.
Pointing out that the state was “not progressing despite the assistance of the Centre due to prevalent corruption”, he hit out at Nitish for “insulting the mandate of the people and betraying the BJP.”
