The two-day meeting of the BJP’s national executive started on Saturday with the first day devoted entirely towards heaping praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The inaugural address of party chief J.P. Nadda stressed on how Modi was an “inspiration for every BJP worker” and the economic resolution presented by defence minister Rajnath Singhfocused on “garib kalyan” (welfare of the poor) by the Modi government.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, the politics of caste, dynasty and appeasement has come to an end in the country and development has emerged as the focal point,” Nadda said.
Nadda said that most of the Opposition parties that are family-based and steeped in corruption were resorting to politics of “disruption and destruction” in their mindless opposition of Modi.
The economic resolution said that when countries across the world were reeling under high inflation, India under Modi was recording “double digit growth”.
Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who briefed about the economic resolution, said people in
India earlier was scared of taxes but under Modi they were happily paying and the revenue earned by the government is being used for “garib kalyan”.
Prime Minister Modi sat through the meeting on Saturday and will do so on Sunday too and then proceed to address a rally at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad.
“Modiji will spend two nights in Hyderabad. This shows his commitment for the party and also the nation,” a Telangana BJP leader said.
