A BJP spokesperson called for a boycott of Deepika Padukone’s films after the actress turned up at a protest meeting of students and teachers at JNU on Tuesday night.
Deepika reached the campus around 7.30pm and stayed for 15 minutes. She spoke to the injured students, including JNU students’ union president Aishe Ghosh.
Asked to make a speech, Padukone said she was there only to express solidarity. She stood behind Ghosh and former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar.
Soon after, BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga called for the boycott of Deepika’s latest movie, but faced a backlash on social media.
