The BJP on Wednesday weaned away the three MLAs of Bihar minister Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insan Party, after the ally had disregarded its appeals and contested the Uttar Pradesh elections on its own.

MLAs Swarna Singh (Gaura Bauram), Raju Kumar Singh (Sahebganj) and Mishri Lal Yadav (Alinagar) submitted resignation letters to Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha on Wednesday evening. They joined the BJP soon after at a programme organised at its state headquarters in Patna in what the party described as “ghar wapsi (homecoming)”

Sahni said: “I will give a befitting reply.”
