The incident that occurred at Qadirganj Bazar under the Kadirganj police station area came to light on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Neeraj Kumar while his friend Sunny Kumar is battling for his life in a hospital.

Neeraj had gone out with his friend at around 5.30pm to nearby Pachamba village on Thursday. His family got a call around 10.30pm that both of them were caught while eve teasing and thrashed by a few people. The caller asked them to come and take them away.

The family members rushed to the village and took the badly beaten boys to a local hospital. Both were taken to their homes after medical attention. However, Neeraj’s condition deteriorated on Friday night. His family rushed him to Nawada Sadar (district) hospital, where he was declared “brought dead”.

Neeraj’s family grew suspicious as a girl was repeatedly calling them to ask about his condition.

“The Kadirganj police station registered an FIR on Saturday based on a complaint by the maternal uncle of the deceased. Investigations have revealed that Neeraj was having a love affair with a girl from Pachamba village. He and his friend had gone there to meet her but were caught by the girl’s family,” Nawada Sadar SDPO Anoj Kumar said.
