Varanasi, July 9 (PTI): A Dalit professor at Banaras Hindu University has lodged an FIR against the dean of the arts faculty accusing him of misbehaving with her and making derogatory remarks, police said today.

Dean Pankaj Kumar rubbished journalism and mass communications professor S. Nerlikar's allegations.

Kumar said Nerlikar was absent on the very first day of the new academic session.

He alleged she was irked as he marked her absent. Kumar said the presence of all professors on the commencement of an academic session is compulsory at BHU.

Nerliker had first given a written complaint to BHU chief proctor against Kumar but when no action was take, she approached the police yesterday.
