The anti-terrorist squad of Uttar Pradesh police has questioned over the past two days a Pakistani woman who sneaked into India with her four children two months ago to live with a Noida youth whom she had befriended while playing the online game PUBG.
“The anti-terrorist squad interrogated Seema Haidar for about eight hours on Monday at its Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) office after the Intelligence Bureau said there were many gaps in her statements to the media on how she met Sachin Meena, travelled to Dubai and then Nepal before entering India on May 13 without a valid passport or visa. The ATS again brought her for interrogation on Tuesday (from Rabupura village in Greater Noida where she has been staying with Sachin),” said a Lucknow-based police officer who didn’t want to be named.
The ATS has also questioned Sachin and his father Netra Pal after bringing them to its Noida office from Rabupura. While the father and son were kept back at the office on Monday, Seema was sent back to Rabupura to spend the night with her children.
A section of the media has claimed that Seema could be an ISI agent.
However, former director-general of police of Uttar Pradesh, A.K. Jain, told the media: “I don’t think she isa spy. It looks like a loveaffair.”
