ATF, commercial LPG cylinder prices slashed

In Delhi, the price of a 19kg cylinder is now Rs 1,859.50 instead of Rs 1,885; in Kolkata it is Rs 1,959 and in Mumbai Rs 1,811.50

India's oil marketing companies announced cuts in the price of commercial LPG cylinders and ATF (aviation turbine fuel) on Saturday, the decision coming a day afterprices of natural gas shot up by a record 40 per cent in step with a global escalation in energy prices.

ATF prices have been slashed by 4.5 per cent.

After the latest revision in prices, a 19kg commercial LPG cylinder will cost Rs 25.50 less in Delhi with immediate effect. This works out to a price of Rs 1,859.50 per cylinder instead of Rs 1,885.

In Calcutta, the price of a commercial gas cylinder has been slashed to Rs 1,959 and in Mumbai, it will now cost Rs 1,811.50, according to PTI and television news channels.

Prices of domestic cylinders will, however, remain unchanged as of now.

Saturday's revision comes exactly a month after the last slashing in price. On September 1, the per-unit cost of a 19 kg commercial cylinder was increased by Rs 91.50 taking the cost from Rs 1,885 to Rs 1,976 in Delhi.

On August 1, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were also reduced by Rs 36. Before that, on July 6, rates for the 19kg commercial cylinder were cut by Rs 8.5 per unit.
