At least nine train derailments, accidents in India in last three months

At least two people died as the CSMT Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailed in Jharkhand early on Tuesday morning.

Here is a list of reported train derailments and accidents in India in the last three months:

July 29: Two bogies of the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express detached from the other coaches in Samastipur district. No casualties because the train was moving slowly.

July 29: Goods train derails in Odisha’s Sambhalpur, no casualties.

July 27: Five wagons of a goods train derail in the yard of Western Railway's Boisar station, some 100 km from Mumbai.

July 26: Engine of an empty passenger train derails in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district after hitting a fallen tree, driver injured.

July 26: Goods train derails near Bhubaneswar station, no report of injury.

June 17: Goods train rams into Kanchanjungha Express, 15 dead, 60 injured.

June 7: Fire breaks out in Daulatpur-Sabarmati express train in Jaipur, none injured.

June 3: Two loco pilots injured as stationary goods train hits another at Sirhind railway station in Punjab.

May 28: Empty local train derails at Liluah station in Howrah, disrupts train movement.
